Carlota M. "Lotty" Herrera

Carlota M. “Lotty” Herrera, age 83, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Ashley Manor.

A funeral mass will be at 12 Noon, Monday, May 6, 2013 at St Anne Catholic Church with Father Manuel Campos officiating. Mausoleum entombment will follow at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Lotty was born February 5, 1930 in Guatemala where she was raised and attended school. She moved to the United States in 1955 first living in Dallas, Texas and later Mississippi; New Orleans, Louisiana; and Eagle Rock, California. On January 13, 1968 in Los Angeles, California she married Leonel Herrera. While in the Los Angeles area she worked for AT&T in electronics assembly for several years. On March 29, 2013 she moved to Grants Pass.

She was a member of the Catholic Church all her life.

Her hobbies included crocheting, flower gardening and growing fruit trees.

Survivors include her husband, Leonel Herrera of Grants Pass, Oregon; a daughter, Gloria Davis of Grants Pass, Oregon; two sisters, Mary Escobar Medrano of Guatemala City, Guatemala and Ann Medrano of Los Angeles, California; two brothers, Jose Medrano and Humberto Medrano both of Guatemala City, Guatemala; three grandchildren, Rachel Davis-Goodwin, Brian Medrano and Jeffrey Medrano; and six great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death was a son, Jose Cartagena.
