Bruce R. Guymon, age 93, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Kinsington at Redwood Park in Grants Pass.

Bruce was born August 4, 1926 to Louis Wesley Guymon and Pearl (Mackelprang) in Castle Dale, Utah as the youngest of seven children.

From 1943 – 1946 Bruce served in the United States Navy as Fireman Second Class. After the Navy, Bruce went to work for Bendix Aviation in Los Angeles, California; then went to television school where he studied the television repair and sales trade. He went on to own and operate Bruce’s Television Sales and Service in Woodland Hills, California, and moved the business to Grants Pass, Oregon in 1964. He also owned three mobile home parks before moving to Grants Pass. On July 3, 1964 in Reno, Nevada, Bruce married Helen (Kershner) Thompson; they were later sealed in the Oakland California Temple.

Bruce was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Murphy Creek Ward. As long-time members in Grants Pass, Bruce and Helen helped with fund-raising for the church’s Savage Street Building and Grants Pass Stake Center. In 1979, the couple served a mission at church headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah where they assisted with senior couple missionary assignments.

Bruce’s hobbies included hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Guymon of Grants Pass; one daughter, Veronica Lynn Seiveno of National City, California; one son, Brian Guymon of Grants Pass; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Bruce is preceded in death by six brothers; one sister; one half-brother; and one half-sister; and one step-son.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 26, 2019 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Grants Pass Stake Center on Williams Highway, with Bishop Gordon conducting and Military Funeral Honors by the United States Navy Honor Guard. Interment will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 28, 2019 at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
