Brett E. Brister, age 38, of Grant Pass, died Saturday, December 27, 2008 at his home.

A viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Friday, January 2, 2009 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

A memorial service will he held at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2009 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors with Pastor Melissa Harkness Haugen.

Brett was born June 11, 1970 in San Pablo, California. He attended Northwood School and graduated from Vintage High School in Napa, California. He played many sports in school including soccer, baseball and football. He loved family get togethers and socializing with his family and friends. He worked at various jobs including construction, painting, yard landscaping and was studying to become a electrician. His two illnesses took a big toll on Brett and caused him to become disabled from work.
He loved to socialize and no person was a stranger to Brett. He made friends wherever he went and helped the less fortunate and homeless by finding a place to stay and helping them get food. In 2005 he moved from Napa, California to Grants Pass.

He loved food, good home cooking and was becoming a pretty good cook. He enjoyed basketball, loved to watch football, and play golf. He also loved to ride his bike and explore the countryside, parks and town.

Survivors include a son, Mason Cody of California; his mother and stepfather, Bonnie and Ron Williams of Grants Pass; his father, George Brister of Arizona; two sisters, Dayna Parham, of Grants Pass and Gaylene Brister, of Vacaville, California.

He was preceded in death by brother, Steven at age 19 in 1983.
