Brandon Paul Silva

June 28, 1991 — November 6, 2011

Brandon Paul Silva was the son of William Paul Silva, the grandson of Robert Paul Silva, and the great-grandson of the late Paul Francis Silva. Brandon was born on June 28, 1991 at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, California. His loving parents William & Sandra, sister Marissa, grandparents Bob & Brenda Silva, grandparents Wolfgang & Margie Dilson, grandparents Bob & Jan Weldon, great-grandmother Zella Silva, and great-grandfather Basil Fuller survive him. He passed away on the morning of November 6, 2011 when he was involved in a fatal car accident on Highway 14 near Agua Dulce Road during a heavy rainstorm in which he lost control of his vehicle. Following his 2009 graduation from West Ranch High School in Santa Clarita, California, Brandon was completing his associates degree at College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, California and anticipated entering the United States Marine Corps on January 23, 2012 in response to his strong desire to serve his country. Brandon was hard working, good-natured, and enjoyed working and interacting with others, always striving to elevate the life experiences of all those around him. Brandon touched many lives with his active involvement in soccer, JROTC, training with and helping tutor Marine recruits, but balanced his life with his passion for photography and adept skill at design. All who met him were richer for the experience. A viewing will be held from 4pm to 7pm at Hull & Hull, 612 NW A Street, Grants Pass, OR 97526 on November 18, 2011; graveside services will be held at 1pm at Granite Hill Cemetery, 2551 Upper River Road, Grants Pass, OR 97526 on November 19, 2011. Given Brandon’s strong connection to family and commitment to serve his country, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the “A Phone Call Home” program for the USO at www.uso.org.
