Bonnie Ruth Cooper

Bonnie Ruth Cooper, age 80, of Grants Pass, died Sunday, April 19, 2009 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center on Williams Hwy with Bishop Mont Sharp conducting. Private interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery.

She was born Bonnie Ruth Scott on June 11, 1928 in Del Norte CO to Bert and Myra (Woodruff) Scott. On September 5, 1948 in Gardnerville NV she married Riley Leonard Cooper who preceded her in death August 2, 2008. Bonnie worked as a secretary for many years and a telephone operator in Cave Junction for many years.

Bonnie was a long-time member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a special love of family history and passed the bug to many who knew her. She was most recently a member of the Riverside Ward (formerly the Grants Pass Fourth Ward).

Bonnie is survived by five children, Ken (and Bonnie) Cooper of Fernley NV, Shirley Fredrickson of Grants Pass, Barbara Wood of Grants Pass, Greg Cooper of Coupeville WA, and Perry (and Cheri) Cooper of Cave Junction; two brothers, James Scott of Cave Junction, and Jack Scott of Newport OR; ten grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Including her husband, Bonnie is preceded in death by her son, William “Bill” Cooper on 2-21-05; her grandson, Kevin Starks on 10-25-86; and her granddaughter, Wanda Cooper on 1-15-82.

Bonnie found peace on April 19, 2009. She was loved by many and will be missed by more.
