Bill Wilcox, age 74, of Grants Pass, died Friday, October 5, 2007 at his home.

A Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 11, 2007 at Grace Bible Church with Pastor Gary Cloud officiating. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Bill was born October 7, 1932 in Grants Pass to Michael and Gladys Wilcox and lived in Grants Pass all his life. He graduated from Grants Pass High School, class of 1950 and worked for COPCO and from 1952 to 1954 he served in the United States Army as a Master Sergeant. On August 7, 1966 at Bethany Presbyterian Church in Grants Pass he married Lois Jane Stilwell. He worked for Pacific Power & Light for 42 years. He first worked as a groundsman, high powered lineman, foreman, and lastly serviceman and retired in 1994.

His memberships included International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (Union IBEW) where he was shop steward for over 20 years, Sportsman Club, Elks Lodge, Masonic Lodge where he was a 50 year Mason, and Golden Eagles Kiwanis Club.

He was a past volunteer for the Advisory Board for Grants Pass School District 7 and was a Little League baseball manager for three years.

He was an avid bird hunter, enjoyed trap & skeet shooting where he competed and was Oregon State Doubles Champion in 1976. He also enjoyed fishing, clam digging, hunting of all kinds, especially pheasant hunting.

He is survived by a daughter, Terri Boyd of Yelm, Washington; a brother, Ralph Lanning of Grants Pass; a niece, Jo Reese of Grants Pass; grandchildren, Staff Sergeant Ryan Boyd of Hill Airforce Base, Utah, Andrew Boyd of Yelm, Washington, Christy Boyd of Kalama, Washington; Great-grandson, Jaden Boyd of Utah.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Jane Wilcox and son, Michael “Mike” Wilcox both in 2004.
