Bill Hulben, age 83, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Laurel Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

No services are planned. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

William Donald “Bill” Hulben was born June 2, 1928 in Deer Lodge, Montana to Samuel William and Marguerite Bertha (Barnden) Hulben. He was schooled in Deer Lodge, Montana and then Montana State College in Bozeman, Montana where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Bill married the former Flora Ann Evans on June 1, 1952 at Cooper Lake, near Ovando, Montana, and they had two children. Bill worked for Chicago-Milwaukee-St. Paul and Pacific Railroad both in Deer Lodge and Chicago until October 1954 then moved to Southern California. Bill worked in the aerospace industry working for North American Aircraft, Douglas Aircraft and Rockwell International (now Boeing) until his retirement in August 1989.

He moved to Rogue River in 1990 from Woodland Hills, California and five years later moved to Grants Pass.

Bill enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, golf, bowling and camping. He loved card games and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Flo Hulben of Grants Pass; son, Daniel Joseph (Theresa) Hulben of Santa Clarita, California; six grandchildren; one great grandson and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Leigh Hulben in 1971; nephew, Robert Applegate in 1969; a sister, Meryl Applegate in 1994 and a sister-in-law, Donna Lee Erdody in 2009.
