Betty L. Clark, age 84, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, October 12, 2013 at her home.

A memorial service will be at 4:00 p.m., Friday, October 25, 2013 at Hull & Hull Chapel with a gathering to follow. Private interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Betty was born April 27, 1929 in Worthington, Minnesota. When she was three her family bought a farm in Wahkon, Minnesota. At age 14, she moved with her family to the San Francisco, California area where she and her parents worked at the Naval Supply Depot. A short time later they moved to Sunny Valley, Oregon where the family owned and operated Radio Park. In 1947 she graduated from Grants Pass High School. She then returned to San Francisco where she married and had a son. After a divorce, Betty moved back to Oregon and supported her son working as a Pacific Bell telephone operator in Medford for five years. In the mid 50s she met and married Edward Bailey and together they took over Radio Park from her parents. Betty ran the bar and store and was postmistress. After Betty and Edward divorced in the 1970s, they sold Radio Park and Betty moved to Grants Pass where she worked at Ray’s Western Wear for five years. During that time she met and in 1976 married Jack Clark and also worked at Redwood Market and Byrds Market until she retired.

In the 1960s Betty was a member of the Eastern Star and served as worthy matron.

From 1988 to 1993 she volunteered with the hospital auxiliary serving over 6000 hours and made pillows for hospital patients.

Betty loved the Pacific Ocean and enjoyed weekend camp trips with Jack. She also loved traveling to Oahu, Hawaii.

Betty was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Ormes in April 2013 and her husband, Jack Clark.
