Betty Joan Moon

Betty Joan Moon, age 75, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

A celebration of life will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Rivers of Life Foursquare Church with Pastor Rick Gilmore officiating. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Betty was born March 19, 1934 in Santa Barbara, California to George & Adeline (Hafer) Morasch. In 1936 she moved from Goleta, California to Grants Pass and was raised on a dairy. She attended Dimmick Elementary School thru the 8th grade and then attended Grants Pass High School. On August 25, 1951 in Nevada she married Malcolm Robertson; they had three children, and later divorced. Together with Malcolm, she owned and operated MJ Robertson Logging and Applegate Aggregates. In 1981 she married Ray Moon and he preceded her in death on October 17, 2007.

She was a longtime member of the Foursquare Church.

She enjoyed feeding small animals and deer on her property and cared about nature. She learned to play the piano by ear, enjoyed cooking and family gatherings. She especially loved her children, grandchildren and stepchildren. She also enjoyed getting together with friends, playing cards, and her cat, Peppy.

Survivors include two daughters, Becky Baier and Barbara Powers both of Grants Pass; a son, Mike Robertson of Grants Pass; two stepdaughters, Lorrie Nelson of Cornelius and Leslie Murphy of Portland; a stepson, Jeff Moon of Oregon City; a sister, Irene Erickson of Grants Pass; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
