Barry Silveira passed away September 30 2017 after a short battle with lymphoma. He was born in San Jose, California to parents Billie and Walt Silveira. He was a 1980 graduate of North Valley High School and was Student Body President as well as Yearbook editor. His senior year of High School under his leadership the yearbook won national awards for the 1979-1980 edition of the yearbook. After graduation he moved to Seattle, Washington to attend Seattle Pacific University and obtained a degree in Communication and graduated in 1984. He moved back to Grants Pass shortly after to help take care of his ailing father, family was always important to him. During this time, he took a job at a local news station as an Advertising Executive and continued working in Mass Media for the entirety of his career.

He moved back to Seattle not long after the passing of his father and truly considered Seattle his home for much of his life. He was dedicated to family and friends and had a love of learning that continued all of his life. His favorite activity was to travel, traveling to Brazil for 3 months in the past year and also visiting Australia, Moorea, Canada, Mexico, Spain and Europe in his life. He volunteered at the local food bank, the Rainer farm and the Illinois valley farm and was a member of St. Lukes and the Unity Church.

He is survived by his mother, Billie Silveira-Davies. His Sister, Shelly Spratt and his Niece.
He was predeceased by his father Walt Silveira.
