Barbara A. Eppelman

Barbara A. Eppelman, age 83, of Grants Pass, died Friday, October 15, 2010 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.

A viewing will be from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday, October 22, 2010 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Hull & Hull Chapel with Pastor Dennis Webber officiating. Private interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery.

Barbara was born December 5, 1926 in Los Angeles, California to Bruce & Cleo (Parker) Dorsey. On February 13, 1944 she married United States Air Force Private Donald E. Capron and on November 6, 1944 during World War II he was listed as missing in action. His body was never recovered. In 1946 she met George Eppelman at Pepperdine University and they were married in June 19, 1948 in Inglewood, California. From September 1968 to her retirement in 1981 she taught elementary school in the Torrance, California Unified School District. At that time, she moved from La Mirada, California to Grants Pass.

Barbara was a member of Parkway Christian Center where she was active in Home Bible Fellowship and taught adult Bible classes.

Her hobbies included reading, studying, camping, and spending time in the outdoors.

Survivors include a daughter, Laura Parker of Englewood, Colorado; a sister, Margaret Buttner of Corona, California; two brothers, David Dorsey of LaMirada, California and Stephen Dorsey of Carlsbad, California; three grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.

In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by her second husband, George Eppelman and a sister, Janet Tyerman.
