Anita M. Reynolds

Anita M. Reynolds, age 82, of Grants Pass, died Friday, December 10, 2010 at Spring Pointe.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Newman United Methodist Church with Reverend Melissa Harkness Haugen officiating. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Anita was born July 15, 1928 in Grants Pass, Oregon to Eldon & Epsie Spalding. As a child growing up, she spent her summers at logging camps and had many fond memories of those early days. In 1946 she graduated from Grants Pass High School and then attended Oregon State University. On December 18, 1949 at Newman United Methodist Church in Grants Pass she married Tom Reynolds Jr and they were married for 30 years and later divorced. From 1950 until the early 1990s she co-owned Spalding & Son Lumber Company. She currently co-owned Josephine Forest Products.

Anita was active in Newman United Methodist Church with the self-help group teaching children. She volunteered her time tutoring adults with reading and with ARC (currently SPARC).

Her hobbies included oil and watercolor painting; music; and playing the organ. She also enjoyed summer family gatherings at lumber camps and cheering for the OSU Beavers.

Survivors include two daughters, Edie Reynolds-Bucan and husband Robert and Amy Reynolds-Mauldin and husband Nick all of Grants Pass, Oregon; two sons, Tracy Reynolds and wife Kim of Boise, Idaho and Ryan Reynolds of Eugene, Oregon; a brother, Merve Spalding of Grants Pass, Oregon; and four grandchildren, Shalee Bucan, Maggie Gasso, Tyler Bucan all of Grants Pass, Oregon and Tashina Reynolds of Seattle, Washington; and two great-grandchildren, Eion Bucan and Nikolas Bucan both of Grants Pass, Oregon.
