Andy Vaughan, age 53, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.

A memorial service is pending for approximately July 2010. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Andy was born September 15, 1956 in LaGrande, Oregon to Marvin & Beauton Stanley. She grew up in Elgin and graduated from Elgin High School and later received a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Western Oregon University. She also received an associate’s degree in law enforcement from Chemeketa Community College. Over the years she worked at various places including as a dispatcher for Keizer Police Department, claims agent for State Farm in Medford, a collection agent for a local collection agency, at Diamond Cabinets, and most recently as a caregiver with Stepping Stones before she medically retired. She lived in Salem, Medford, and in the later 1970s moved to Grants Pass.

She was a Nichiren Buddhist. She was a member of SPCA and the Humane Society.

Andy rescued cats, loved horses, savored shopping, was a marathon runner, and a colored pencil drawing artist. She loved all kinds of music and loved to read, especially mystery, horror and thriller novels.

Survivors include her fianc, Kim Kenyon of Grants Pass; a sister, Janniece Stanley-MacDonald and her husband John MacDonald of Twin Peaks, California; two brothers, Jack Robin Stanley and his wife Christi Sutphin of Ellensburg, Washington and Jack C. Rye and his wife Grace Rye of Monmouth; and two cousins, Jonathan Rye of Monmouth and Mellisa Rye O’Keefe and her son Alex O’Keefe of Lake Oswego.
