Alta Marie Robbins

January 14, 1928 — September 3, 2012

Alta Marie Robbins, age 84, of Rogue River, died Monday, September 3, 2012 at Morrow Heights Retirement and Assisted Living Community.

A viewing will be at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, September 8, 2012 in the Relief Society Room at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will follow at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 31 W 6th Street, Medford, Oregon 97501.

Alta was born January 14, 1928 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. When she turned 12 she moved with her family from Chickasha to Southern California. In 1943 she married Ross Anderson. After 28 years of marriage and three daughters they divorced. In 1982 she married Paul Robbins and in the early 90’s they moved from Paris, California to Grants Pass.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Riverside War, and served as a temple worker.

She volunteered for Meals on Wheels.

Her hobbies included golfing, sewing, knitting and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her three daughters, Nila Dodson of Rogue River, Irma Neighorn of Medford and Lynda Darling of Reno, Nevada; a sister, Irma Morhain; three brothers, Randall Brown of Utah, Bill Brown of Alaska and Daniel Brown of Texas; two grandsons and one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter.

Preceding Alta in death is her husband, Paul Robbins in 1996; former husband, Ross Anderson in 1996; and granddaughter, Julie Edwards in 1968.
