Alberta Elaine Minton

August 17, 1939 — October 10, 2015

Alberta Elaine Minton, age 76, of Wolf Creek, died Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Three Rivers Medical Center.

Alberta was born August 17, 1939 in Grants Pass to Albert & Phyllis Gilliam. She was raised in Wolf Creek and attended schools in Wolf Creek before attending Grants Pass High School. After moving away she returned to Wolf Creek 53 years ago from Tracy, California. On May 29, 1965 she married Paul Edward Minton who died October 21, 2005 in Wolf Creek. Alberta enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her four children. She occasionally worked outside the home including Turk’s bulb Farm, Hungry Wolf Diner, and Walmart.

Alberta attended Glendale Baptist Church.

During her children’s school years she participated in P.T.A.

Her hobbies included crocheting, knitting, reading (especially romance novels), flower gardening, spending time in the outdoors, and cooking. With her family she enjoyed getting firewood. She considered herself a country girl.

Survivors include four children, Lorrie Peck of Grants Pass, Anthony Minton and Mark Minton both of Wolf Creek, and Kimberly Curry of Glendale; a brother, Vernon Gilliam of Talkeetna, Alaska; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Candis in 1984.
