Al Ewen, age 84, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.

A visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 28, 2008 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 29, 2008 at Parkway Christian Center with Pastor Dennis Webber and Pastor Joel Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Gotcher Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Al was born March 2, 1924 in Holly, Colorado to John & Lydia Ewen. During World War II he served in the United States Army. On March 3, 1945 in Mexico he married Viola Mae Hansen. He worked as an auto mechanic and parts salesman for many years. In 1966 he moved from San Bernardino, California to Grants Pass.

He was a long-time active member of Parkway Christian Center where he served in children’s ministries, as an usher, and in men’s ministries.

He had a real estate license and enjoyed flying his plane. He also enjoyed fishing, elk hunting, camping, and gardening.

In addition to his wife, Vi Ewen; he is survived by two daughters, Christine Sage and Kandace Bailey all of Grants Pass; two sisters, Artyce Homan of Ohio and Norma Lute of Georgia; six grandchildren, Kyle Sage, Angela Williams, Brian Bailey, Holly Mercer, Julie Blair, and Kevin Bailey; and 12 great-grandchildren.

His brother, Vern Ewen died March 23, 2008.
